Raiding with Peace and Quiet

Not all raids are the same, but they generally share characteristics. You can help out a lot by being prepared for the raid you are to be attending.

Required Add-Ons

To raid with PQ you'll need the following add-ons installed and configured. More to the point you'll need to understand how to use them.

  • Omen

Raid technical setup

As part of implementing the second axiom, members should be able to contribute to a raid they are not attending.

  • Guild runs (where possible) will be streamed via mogulus.com; more information about this may be found here.
  • The official raid channel (/ra) is not used for any raids except for raid warnings.
  • The channel pqraid is used for for voice and raid chat.
  • This channel is not limited to those currently raiding, and is open to all.

Always

  • Keep your unavailable days up-to-date on the calendar. The raid is determined in advance based on this information. If you miss a raid because your unavailability information is incorrect, you inconvenience everybody else.

Before you even log in

  • Check your add-ons. New versions are being released all the time and often lose compatibility with older versions. Keep yours up-to-date. A large number of add-ons can be kept up-to-date with the CurseClient.
  • Get your in-raid communications gear sorted out. Headsets, microphones, speakers etc.

Before raid invitations

  • If you've recently suffered a crash, please double check your game settings and test your voice communications.
  • Get repairs.
  • Check potion and other consumable supplies.
  • Ensure you've packed the correct gear (resist, alternate, etc).

Setting up and waiting around

  • Head over to the raid instance.
  • Start summoning people. We allow for a lot of dead time in the schedules, but it's better to be early than late!
  • Be patient! The raid organiser is probably busy.
  • Start buffing up where appropriate.

Looting

  • Loot distribution is set to “Group Loot” in all our raids at all times.
  • For BoP items:
    • A “Need” roll indicates an upgrade for your current role.
    • A “Greed” roll indicates an upgrade for an alternate role, or a side grade for your current role.
  • BoE items are always greeded on by the raid.
