Totem FAQ

How much health do totems have?

  • Totems each have 5 hit points with the exception of Stoneclaw totem, which has 1650 hit points.

What is the range of totems?

  • All Shamans are able to lay totems that have a 30 yard range.

How long does it take to lay a full set of totems?

  • The GCD for totems is 1 second. So in theory a full set takes 4 seconds. (Unsure if this is reduced with haste as the GDC is already different.)

Are there any totems that are spec specific?

  • Yes, Mana Tide totem is specific to Restoration and Totem of Wrath is specific to Elemental.

How much mana do totems cost to lay?

  • It depends, but most totems use a percentage of base mana. For a rough example, a set of Strength of Earth, Wrath of Air, Mana Spring and Flametongue totem costs 1580 mana.

How long do totems last for?

  • This again depends, but the majority of totems are 5 minutes. Grounding and Earthbind totems last for 45 seconds. Tremor Totem lasts for 2 minutes.

Can totems aggro?

  • Yes. I am assuimg they have the same aggro range as a player. If a totem aggros the mob will kill the first totem it sees then head straight for the Shaman.

Can totems be removed?

Do totems stack with other buffs?

  • Yes and No.
  • Strength of Earth does not stack with Horn of Winter or Strength/Agility scrolls.
  • Mana Spring does stack with Blessing of Wisdom, and Mana Spring totems stack together.
  • Flametongue totem does not stack with Totem of Wrath.

Do totems have reagents?

Sort of! Every Shaman will carry Water Totem, Air Totem, Fire Totem and Earth Totem. Shamans cannot lay totems without these items.
